Hygolet - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the hygolet ® made of?
ABS Plastic - the same as telephones.

What is SANITARY PLASTIC made of?
High density polyethylene, approximately one (1) mill (one thousandth of an inch).
How often does SANITARY PLASTIC need to be replaced?
There are 100 seatings on a roll. The amount of SANITARY PLASTIC used is dependent totally on the amount of traffic in the establishment in which it is installed.
What is included in each case of SANITARY PLASTIC ?
Approximately 8000 seatings (80 rolls) of sanitary plastic, take-up spools and disposable gloves. The gloves are provided so maintenance personnel never need to touch the used roll.
How is the hygolet® powered?
A 6-volt DC custom built UL listed transformer which powers 6 seats in close proximity.
Does the hygolet® replace the regular toilet seat?
Yes. The hygolet® fits all standard toilets and is installed in the same way as a conventional seat.
Does the hygolet®? lift like a conventional toilet seat?
Yes. It functions exactly the same.
What are the metal parts of the hygolet® made of?
Stainless steel.
What is the purpose of the razor blade?
The blade splits the SANITARY PLASTIC allowing it to pass between the seat "attachment plate" and around the take-up spool, thus preventing reuse.
How often does the blade need to be replaced?
The blade has two sides. Depending on the amount of traffic, approximately every two months.
How long does it take to change a roll of SANITARY PLASTIC and clean the hygolet®?
Less than one (1) minute.
How will the user know how to operate the hygolet®?
We provide instructions on a pictured, laminated wall sign. The sign is placed on the wall behind the unit.
How will maintenance know how to perform preventive maintenance on the hygolet®?
Through training by our staff and by viewing the installation/training video.
How do I clean the hygolet®?
To clean the hygolet®, use paper towels or hand towels dampened with household sanitizers, i.e., Lysol or Pine-Sol cleaner.
How will maintenance personnel know when SANITARY PLASTIC is getting low?
There is a black line on the plastic when 10 seats are left on the roll.
Will an acid-based cleaner harm the plastic?
Yes. If a strong acid is continually used, it will harm the plastic surface .
What happens if someone discharges on the seat?
The chances of that are greatly reduced with the hygolet® because people will no longer hesitate to sit directly on the seat. If this should happen, a push of the red button will provide a fresh seating.
Where can I obtain SANITARY PLASTIC?
From Bella Bagno, Inc.
Will any germs contained on the surface of the used roll of SANITARY PLASTIC contaminate the user?
No, for the following reasons:
The used sleeve is wound up in a roll and any germs are confined to that roll. The used roll of SANITARY PLASTIC is enclosed in a separate, isolated chamber, to prevent the germs from migrating onto the seat and/or to the fresh roll of SANITARY PLASTIC.
Is the hygolet® sterile?
Both the hygolet® and SANITARY PLASTIC are manufactured and packaged in sterile environments. When put into use together, they provide a sanitized, uncontaminated surface for each user.
Is the SANITARY PLASTIC biodegradable?
No plastic is biodegradable The EMPA test results show the requirements of the Materials Regulations which are in force have been met. Therefore the label inscription "No harmful substances result from destruction" is printed on our boxes.
